Precision irrigation is already here

The company S’Smart Farming Technologies has installed and is overseeing the first precision irrigation system in our country. The system has been operating autonomously for several months now, making decisions about when to irrigate and how much water to use with each irrigation. It is a drip irrigation system covering an area of 75 hectares of hazelnut orchards.

Irrigation in this solution is completely automatic and is performed at the optimal time with the optimal amount of water, making it precise and environmentally friendly. In addition to standard drip irrigation equipment, the system is equipped with the necessary equipment for fertigation and system automation (electric valves, pump controllers, and necessary control devices).

Furthermore, the system is connected to X-FARM agro-stations, which monitor all conditions prevailing in the plantation, including soil moisture. The system is also equipped with water flow meters, providing information on any irregularities in its operation, such as clogged drippers or water leakage from defects in the irrigation network, based on which emergency maintenance measures are undertaken.

All data is transferred to the company’s information platform, where it is processed and decisions are made to ensure optimal conditions for growth and fruiting.

Among other things, this platform offers users support in making decisions on pesticide application, fertilization, as well as keeping records of performed agrotechnical activities, tracking costs, and determining the product’s cost price.

This solution is not only digital, smart, and precise but also contributes to reducing production costs and achieving outstanding results in terms of yields, product quality, and realized income.
